Getting started
How do I start a recording?
Open Maemoe and tap the centre button, or trigger a recording from one of the five fast-start gestures: Home Screen Widget, "Hey Siri, record this meeting", the Action Button on iPhone 15 Pro and later, Back Tap (configurable in iOS Settings → Accessibility → Touch), or from inside the app itself.
Does Maemoe work if my phone is locked?
Yes. A Live Activity keeps the recording running on the lock screen and a persistent indicator on the Dynamic Island shows you're still capturing. You can put the phone face-down in your pocket and rejoin the room.
What happens when I stop?
The moment you stop, Maemoe hands the audio off for processing. Within a couple of minutes your notes are waiting: summary, topics, key points, decisions, action items, unresolved questions, and the full transcript.
Account and subscription
How do I restore a purchase on a new device?
In Maemoe, go to Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases. Your existing subscription will be restored using your Apple ID.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, select Maemoe, and choose Cancel Subscription. Your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Visit Apple's Report a Problem page within 90 days of the charge.
Troubleshooting
Recording won't start
- Check that Maemoe has microphone permission: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → Maemoe.
- Make sure no other app (like a voice memo or FaceTime call) is holding the microphone.
- Free-tier users: confirm you have remaining minutes for the month in Settings → Subscription.
The Live Activity isn't showing on the lock screen
- Enable Live Activities: iOS Settings → Face ID & Passcode → allow "Live Activities" when locked.
- Enable for Maemoe specifically: iOS Settings → Maemoe → Live Activities.
My notes haven't arrived
Processing usually takes a couple of minutes. For long meetings, give it up to ten. If they still don't arrive, open Maemoe, pull down on Recent Meetings to refresh, and confirm you have a working internet connection. If it persists, email us with the time you recorded and we can look into it.
I'm hitting the free minutes cap
The Free tier includes 120 minutes of recording per calendar month. Your quota resets on the first of each month. You can upgrade to Pro at any time for unlimited recording.
Data and privacy
How do I delete a meeting?
Open the meeting and tap the trash icon in the top-right. Deletion is permanent across your devices and our servers within 30 days, including backups.
How do I export my data?
Every meeting can be exported to Markdown, PDF, or plain text from the share sheet on its detail screen. You can also send any individual note directly into Messages, Mail, or Notes.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Account → Delete Account. All of your data is removed within 30 days, including backups. You'll receive a confirmation email when deletion completes.
