These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Sansa Technologies ("Sansa", "we", "us") and govern your use of the Maemoe iOS app and related services (the "Service"). By downloading, installing, or using Maemoe, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who can use Maemoe
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital consent age in your country, whichever is higher) to use Maemoe. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
2. Your account
Some features require an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for everything that happens under your account. Please notify us at support@sansatech.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
3. Recording responsibly
You are solely responsible for how you use Maemoe's recording features. Many jurisdictions require the consent of all parties before a conversation may be recorded. You agree that you will:
- Obtain any consents required by law before recording.
- Not use Maemoe to record conversations you have no right to record.
- Not upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or otherwise prohibited by these Terms.
4. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
Maemoe offers a free tier and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. The following terms are required by Apple and apply to every paid subscription:
- Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings after purchase.
- Where required by law, any unused portion of a free trial will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Visit Apple's refund request page.
5. Free tier limits
The Free tier includes 120 minutes of recording per calendar month. When you reach the monthly limit, recording is paused until your quota resets or you upgrade.
6. Your content
You retain all rights to the audio you record and the content you create using Maemoe ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant Sansa a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, process, transcribe, summarize, and display Your Content solely to provide the Service to you. This license ends when you delete the content or close your account, subject to brief retention periods for backups and legal obligations described in our Privacy Policy.
We do not use Your Content to train AI models, and we do not sell it.
7. Our content
The Maemoe app, the Maemoe brand, and all related trademarks, software, and materials are owned by Sansa and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, subject to these Terms and Apple's standard App Store License Agreement.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app except where permitted by law.
- Use the Service to harass, defame, or infringe the rights of others.
- Upload malicious code or attempt to circumvent security controls.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without written permission.
- Use the Service in violation of any applicable law, including wiretapping, consent-to-record, and export laws.
9. Service availability and changes
We work to keep Maemoe running well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may add, change, or remove features from time to time. If we materially reduce the functionality of a paid plan during your billing period, you may contact support for a pro-rated refund of the remaining period.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. AI-generated summaries can contain mistakes. Always review important output before acting on it.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sansa will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (i) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (ii) fifty United States dollars ($50).
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Sansa and its affiliates harmless from any claims, losses, and expenses arising out of your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms or if we are required to by law. On termination, you will lose access to Your Content stored by the Service, subject to the retention window described in our Privacy Policy.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You and Sansa agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in New Castle County, Delaware, unless your local consumer protection laws entitle you to bring claims in your home jurisdiction.
15. Apple's role
You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Sansa, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the Service. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. The Service must be used in compliance with the Apple Standard End User License Agreement, which applies in addition to these Terms.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If the changes are material, we will notify you before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the new Terms.
